Termite Control

Fast And Dependalbe Termite Inspections And Control!

There are over 2,700 known species of termites throughout the world. In the U.S., subterranean termites, including Eastern, Western, desert and Formosans, are a concern in every state except Alaska. Subterranean termites, which build underground nests, can be extremely destructive. They can tunnel to wooden structures (like your home), which damage by using it as a food source. Termites all share a virtually insatiable appetite for wood and other cellulose-containing materials. Given enough time, they can cause extensive damage and will feed on the wood until nothing is left but a shell.

What does it involve?
Termites will inflict significant damage to a structure if not caught. Unfortunately, most homeowners do not realize they have a termite infestation until it's too late. If you’re concerned about termites or if you’ve simply never had a termite inspection completed for your home or business, Turner Pest Control is ready to put our highly trained and certified termite inspectors to work for you. We will check all visible and accessible areas for signs of termites and/or live termites inside and outside the structure.

What do we do?
What we look for during a termite inspection:
  • Termite tunnels and termite tunnel stains (when a tunnel has been scraped off a block wall)
  • Imperfections in the sheetrock
  • Baseboards stained by moisture from mud
  • Actual termites when mulch is pulled back from the foundation, other areas that have wood to soil contact and under stepping stones
  • In crawl areas, we’ll also pull back insulation and look at the sill plates and conduct a sound test as well
  • Moisture readings of the floor joist (if 18% or above, there’s a pretty good chance we’ll find termites somewhere)
If zero evidence of these pests are found, you’re all set. We do recommend scheduling a termite inspection once a year to be sure your home stays termite free. If termite damage or other evidence is found, the termite inspector will explain what was found, where it was found, and provide a quote to get rid of termites that includes the installation of the Sentricon System.

What is a WDO/WDI?
Turner Pest Control provides WDO/WDI. A wood-destroying organism (WDO) inspection is an inspection performed by licensed pest control operator such as Turner Pest Control who is trained and has the knowledge to identify damage, evidence, and live WDO’s. We recommend termite inspections to be done annually to keep your home protected.. Often for real estate purposes, a request for a termite inspection can be a requirement for the sale of the property. There are two kinds of inspections homeowners request include the WDO inspection and WDI. The WDO inspection is for termites and other WDOs (such as wood boring beetles, and fungi), and the WDI is for wood destroying insects only. Tuner Pest Control technicians will complete a full inspection, checking below ground around the perimeter of the home/building, and will will be searching in all conducive areas. If we find that termites have started to compromise the integrity of your home we will offer a free quote upon inspection so that the termite damage can be treated, eliminated.

Is it termites?
The bug which is most commonly confused with a termite is an ant. Both termites and ants live in colonies. Reproductive ants have two sets of wings and can be up to three-quarters of an inch long. The front wings are longer than the hind wings and are not similar in shape, pattern or size.
